So, one thing always worth bearing in mind about promoting stuff on Twitter - most people won't see something you only tweet once, and that's before we even factor in the dreaded algorithm.
I'm currently promoting two endeavors of mine - a newsletter on Substack and a bookstore opening up here in Hagerstown.

This tweet will be the first time multiple people notice me mentioning either of them.
And at the same time someone's going to read that last tweet and go "But how can that be? You've been all but spamming the timeline with both!"
Basically if you've got something you want your followers to know about... tweet or retweet it once a day, minimum. Telling them about your book or your upcoming appearance or your art site or whatever is never going to be a One And Done.
I think we're socialized in a lot of ways to feel like we're being annoying if we're noticed and we're wasting our time if we're not.

But the truth is our efforts are never 100% noticed or 100% ignored.
And to a great extent, people's own perceptions are going to be helping them filter for what they're interested in vs. what they're not.

E.g., people who follow me on here but don't care about my creative writing, their eyes tend to slide past my fiction links.
But your followers don't have a chance to ignore what they never see in the first place. They also don't have a chance to be intrigued and click on it.
So tweet your promos once a day minimum, and maybe more. Maybe try to catch The Day Crowd and the Night Crowd (or the hemispheres, if you prefer). Maybe throw out another promo after you realize you've been actively tweeting a bunch, so it'll be spaced out from the last one.
People honestly need to see something a few times for it to sink in, if it's not a direct conversation. It helps to see things from multiple places or in multiple ways, so don't always just RT the same things... and boost/repost/QT/reply to your friends' links!
Anyway. I mentioned my bookstore and newsletter endeavors up above. Here's the store!

And here you can find the newsletter, which I'm starting in part because more time at the bookstore is going to equal less time on Twitter.
