Police didn't release the suspect's name, though.

The Beirut Foreign MInistry claimed that he's a Lebanese journalist named Mohammed Saleh.

Some Greek media identified him as Mohammed Ali Hammadi, who already served time in Germany for the hijacking & Stethem's killing.
He was sentenced to life in prison in Germany, yet they released him in 2005 on parole and he went back to Lebanon. He's also a member of Hezbollah.
Mohammed Ali Hammadi is on the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorist list and they have a reward up to $5 million for his capture.
