HOW TO KNOW A GOOD QUALITY SHOE...

I do hope you find this piece helpful..
Never forget to retweet and follow for more updates..

Having been a shoe designer for years, one of the things I understand about people is using price to judge if a shoe is quality and is wrong..
Well, in as much as quality products tends to be higher in price than low quality products doesn't mean the gap will be as wide as heaven and earth.... A customer from Europe call me one certain time when my client from Europe his friend told him about me
He wanted to buy 2 pair of palm slippers and the moment I told him I sold 1 for 7k he was turned off, he said if what I saw online is sold for that price it means you are selling low quality products nd I can't possibly use such products. He was aiming at a price of 20k and above
I have some ladies who buy shoes from me at the price of 20,000 and resell them for 35,000 and above and that doesn't make them selling a product more quality than mine. Is just a difference in our customer target.. While I target average Nigerian they target the rich dude
So, on this particular topic. I have grouped the ways to identify a good quality shoes into 3
-THE TOP (the leather part)
-THE CONSTRUCTION
-THE SOLE
Starting with the top of the shoe, the best leather is GRAIN LEATHER. There are other leathers like scarf etc hut grain is best
Full-grain leather is characterized by its luxurious, smooth surface nd it has few, if any, flaws. It is the most popular type of leather. It has not been snuffed, sanded, or buffed to remove any natural marks or imperfections from its surface. Its fibers are stable and durable
So, when buying shoe run you thumb round the leather, smooch to see if there will be a wear the leather..if it changes color while smooch it could be that is dye grain leather which could be as a semi grain leather or synthetic materials ...
Try to buy a shoe from a brand who is ready to accept back the shoe if after a short period of usage it got spoiled...
- THE CONSTRUCTION....
When buying shoe try to check out the construction of the shoe, how the top is joined to the sole....
A quality shoe is joined to a sole by two means, gum to to the sole using chemical gum and stitched to the sole which is actually and most times invisible
Try run a check on the shoe to see if it's any super glue used. super glue is an enemy of leather. People using synthetic Materials are the ones who mostly use it. A super glued shoe can not be repair as it damage the leather from the sole. Basically is made for a temporal use
The SCURF OF YOUR SHOE

The scurf is the area that grip your ankle a leather shoe should have an inner lining that's stitched to the outside leather... If this scurf area is left without lining.. Run from the shoe, is not quality
Check the insole of the shoe... A quality shoe has an insole and in between the insole and the sole.. There should be something there.. A pad like, usually very soft.. And its is glued to the sole... It must not be removable on a mere ground... If this is not in a shoe is fake
The Heel: A sturdy and thick high heel is less likely to get caught on things, and is less liable to be scuffed. When purchasing a shoe, the heel shouldn’t wobble or shift at all. The heel is made up of a piece of wood or cork, and is often attached by glue, a pin....
Hit more on the heel to check if is hard sturdy, or look synthetic
Now the final part which happens to be the sole.
Basically there are numerous type of sole, the leather sole, the rubber sole, the Nora sole and etc. Each of these are good soles depending on the shoe.. For shoe used in a site rubber sole, for formal shoes either leather or Nora
Well, each of these sole has it's own advantages and disadvantages but going for a formal shoes, I advice you go for leather sole or Nora sole.. Reason been that, these sole are lite to carry.. They unarguably last longer and fit the occasion the shoe is made for...
People try to bend shoes and they believe if it can bend is original and if it can't is fake. Check this formal shoes, they can't be bend, there is usually an iron at the middle of the sole.. Which does not let the shoe to be bend.. This is fixed there to keep the shoe in shape
Basically... Formal shoes are not to be bend.... They aren't made to be.. Canvas and others may be but not formal shoes
