Was the #Greek #Hero #Perseus born of a #Virgin?
Um, #No, and here is why.
Some have made comparisons between the similarities between Perseus and Jesus' conceptions (even Justin Martyr), yet all are erroneous, considering that in Perseus' case, Zeus came to his mother disguised as a shower of gold...and in that form had SEX with her.
In other
versions, Proteus has sex with her (again, SEX!), and there is no indication of a shower of gold disguise in that account.

There are several different accounts of Horus’ death, which involved anything from being stung by a scorpion, bitten by a snake, cut into pieces, etc. Yet none of these state that he was crucified, which makes sense, given that crucifixion wasn't an Egyptian form of execution.
It was, however, a form of execution that was well used by the Persians, Carthaginians, Seleucids and Romans. It was done from the 6th century BC to the 4rth century AD. .If one expected Horus to be executed in any way in the myths, it would have been with a form of execution

No. Nobody with even half a brain cell on the left would do that if they were aware of the historical significance of Caucasian people painting themselves into #BlackFace. (gollywogs etc) So it's clearly something @JustinTrudeau did before he learned what it meant.

Honest opinion:
Blackface to imitate black people in general has historical connotations making it racist AF.
Blackface as an homage to a character/celeb you love doesn't make you racist... but unless Spielberg does your makeup it won't look good enough not to look disrespectful.

Many people have made comparisons between Wikileaks and Bellingcat in the last couple of days, but it's like comparing apples and oranges. Wikileaks elicits and publishes leaked materials, we analyze open source materials and, in very rare cases, leaked data.
The clearest case of this can be seen in a story on our October 2018 story "305 Car Registrations May Point to Massive GRU Security Breach". We found this data in pre-published leaked materials, but purposefully chose to not doxx these GRU agents.

#HistoryKeThread: In his book, The Making Of A Colony, Lord Cranworth made comparisons between various communities in Kenya.

The comparisons were made between 1908 and 1912, when the book was published.
He had fond things to say about the Luo, but wasn’t half as flattering in his analysis of, say, the Agîkûyû or the Kamba.

In his observed opinion, the lakeside community was made up of hard working men.
Unlike the Agîkûyû, whom he said left a lot of the hard work to their womenfolk, the Luo man was industrious, happy to get his hands dirty on strenuous chores. This, according to him, was the reason why the average Luo man had a tall and muscular demeanour.
