Do (supposed) parallels between #Christ and some #pagan #gods prove that #Jesus was based on pagan gods?
Um, NO, and the #Undertaker will show why:
#Debunking about to commence...
Jesus Mythicists will try to find whatever parallel they can with Christ in order to make him a mythological figure, in order to cast doubt on his existence, his historicity.
As many have noted, these parallels are faulty at best, absurd at the worst. Indeed, many of the
supposed parallels are clever lies, intended to fool a public that is poorly educated on history and generally not willing to check their sources.
But let’s look at their logic, shall we? Let’s look at their argument, expressed as letters:
B has many similarities to A
A is older than B
Therefore B is based on A.
Sounds…kind of logical, right?
Well, if we went by this logic…then we would have to conclude, beyond the shadow of a doubt…that #WWE's the #Undertaker is based on Jesus Christ!
Oh yes, the Undertaker! Undertaker is one of the most famous wrestlers of all time, arguably the best. With a stellar career spanning decades, the Undertaker has become a household name. His character was originally that of a zombie-like undertaker. Indeed, that was one of his
schticks; he was a man who died and was resurrected. Indeed, the Undertaker character resurrected ten times in his WWE career.
Now, wait a minute.
Jesus, who lived 2000 years earlier…also died and was resurrected.
Does this therefore mean that the character of the Undertaker…was based on Christ?
Well, if you are a Jesus Mythicist, and if you were consistent with your thinking, you would definitely have
to believe that, especially considering how many similarities that the Undertaker and Christ have in common.
You see…
1. Not only did both die (Undertaker dying more than once)
2. Not only were they both resurrected (also again, more than once)
But…
3. Both are miracle workers
4. Both are firstborn sons
5. Both have followers (Jesus had the disciples, while Undertaker has the Ministry of Darkness

6. Both founded a sect (Jesus founded “the Way”, which became Christianity. Undertaker founded the Ministry of Darkness
7. Both carried out rituals with their followers (Jesus had the last supper with his disciples, while Undertaker had various rituals with his Ministry of
Darkness (see the playlist posted above)
8. Both clashed with demons (Jesus resisted Satan’s temptations in the wilderness, and later cast out demons. Undertaker battled Kane, who is “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” “Corporate Demon” “The Demon Kane”, etc. I think you get the point.
9. Jesus has the power to send demons to Hell (Luke 8:26-31). Undertaker dragged Kane into Hell.
10. Jesus was both cheered and jeered by crowds (he was cheered entering Jerusalem on palm Sunday, then jeered when he was presented to a crowd alongside Barabbas, and later during his crucifixion. Undertaker was cheered when he was a “face” (or “good guy” character) and jeered
when he was the “Heel” (or “bad Guy”)
11. Jesus went to Hell, preaching to fallen spirits who sinned during the days of Noah (Most likely the fallen angels of Genesis 6:4 (1 Peter 3:18-20). As seen in the videos above where Undertaker drags Kane to Hell, Undertaker went to Hell
too.
12. Incurred the wrath of both religious and secular authorities. Undertaker incurred the wrath of Vince McMahon, THE authority at WWE. Both Jesus and the Undertaker were buried as a result.
13. Jesus had brothers (Matt 12:46-50, Luke 8:19-21). Undertaker has a brother (Kane)
14. Both were crucified.
15. Peter, one of Christ’s followers, violently defended him (John 18:10). Undertaker’s followers violently defended him.
16. Both were betrayed (Judas betrayed Jesus. Paul Bearer betrayed Undertaker)
17. Jesus’ family turned on him (They went to seize him, thinking him insane (Mark 3:21). Undertaker’s brother Kane turned on him.
18. Jesus is depicted with long hair and a beard. Undertaker has long hair and a beard.
19. Jesus is most often depicted as white. Undertaker is white.
20. Both had many names (Jesus is also called Immanuel, Prince of Peace, the Son of God, Messiah (His Hebrew name was Yeshua Ben Yosef), etc. Undertaker is called the Phenom, the Dead Man, The Demon of Death Valley, The Lord of Darkness, etc (and his real life name, Mark Calaway

That’s 19 things that Jesus and Undertaker…have in common.
Thus, if Jesus Mythicists used their logic consistently, they would have to conclude…that the character of the Undertaker was based on Jesus Christ!
Now, of course, no sane person thinks this. Indeed, the only true borrowing here would be crucifixion, but to say therefore that Undertaker was based on Christ would be like saying that Conan the Barbarian is based on Christ, due to being crucified in “Conan the Barbarian”!
Plus, this borrowing doesn’t negate the fact that the “crucifixion” of the Undertaker was carried out on LIVE TV! It wasn’t made up out of thin air by a writer who wanted to found a new religion and simply wrote it on paper; The Undertaker was “crucified” in the ring (though this
“crucifixion” is FAR FAR FAR different from ancient Roman Crucifixion. The latter involved real death, suffering, and public shame, not entertainment).
Also, some of these “parallels”, when you look at them closely, fail utterly.
Jesus and Undertaker being white? Historians
state that Jesus wasn’t white. Nor would he have had long hair, as long hair for men was a sign of shame in Hebrew culture.
1 Corinthians 11:14
And this is what Jesus Mythicists do with their supposed ‘parallels” to Christ; come up with so-called similarities that, upon closer inspection, are not so similar after all.
However, I have to say, I’ve found a lot more similarities between Undertaker and Christ than between
Christ and pagan gods who Jesus Mythicists bring up (i.e. legit parallels).
Was the Undertaker really based on Jesus Christ?
Well, if you’ll buy that…
