Anyone proposing any climate solution without nuclear...is basically proposing a solution that would leave BILLIONS in poverty and without sufficient electricity for the next several decades.

Anyone saying "Yes, we can do this with renewables, no nuclear!" is every bit the science denier as those that reject any human involvement in global warming.

Germany is proving, IN REAL TIME, what happens when you dismiss both natural gas (a more efficient source than coal) and nuclear.
You end up...causing more pollution because you end up using more coal.

If India and China (who are expanding at an exponential rate) dont build nuclear, they will have to build coal fire plants (both countries already are).
Renewables cannot, in any manner, make up for the deficit in energy in those countries. It is a mathematical impossibility.

And if you want to wave your magic wand, and force them not to use nuclear OR coal...then what would happen?
Basically both countries would stagnate. And millions, if not billions, would probably fall into poverty. Some would starve.
That is what Leftists are calling for.

This once again shows the absolute ignorance and white privilege of the wealthy Western nations.
China and India (and soon to come, the entire continent of Africa) are not going to stop their prosperous economies just because a bunch of privileged rich westerners say so.

On average, you would need anywhere from 7,000-17,000 wind turbines...to equal just a SINGLE coal plant.
And that assumes that the wind is constant enough.

It is reported that China is building at least 300 coal fire plants...over the next decade.
That means, we would probably need... at least 3,000,000
or so windmills.

In short, we would need more wind turbines than THAT CURRENTLY EXIST ON THE PLANET to make up for the coal fire Plants China wants to build... JUST IN THE NEXT DECADE.
