We're in DC to present at a #IACHRHearing about challenges faced by people from Northern Triangle countries seeking asylum here.

As the hearing was about to start, the US gov literally walked out.

They said they can't attend because we're there and we're suing them.

Pathetic.
This is a cowardly act by our government who are supposed to represent the wishes of the American people. The @IACHumanRights (@CIDH) was founded with a mission to promote and protect human rights in the American hemisphere.
If the US gov't is unwilling to listen to testimony from the public about the challenges faced by asylum seekers from Northern Triangle countries, they're saying 👋🏾 to the principle that this gov't is ruling with the consent of the governed & further shutting the door on asylum.
They came back for the hearing after we spoke.

As a reminder they walked out because we're suing them.

Spineless cowards, much?
