It’s a significant piece of evidence related to the accusation and it seems weird that so many journalists seem to be complaining about its release.

Especially since everything we know as of right now is based on speculation and anonymous reports.
I wrote about this yesterday in the context of impeachment. This will blow up on Dems if the evidence isn’t clear and this turns into a partisan argument based on subjective interpretations. Serious gamble to move forward based on media accounts without the evidence.
Also, there is no way the complaint will or should be released to the public given the likely content. It should be shared with members of Congress that sit on relevant committees.
