We often like to frame our ideas as subversive or 'hated by society' - but how do we tell?
My favorite test is, "can your idea be used to sell a product?" If advertisers would use your concept or advertise alongside it, then your idea isn't subversive.
not subversive:
gays
interracial couples
america
women housekeepers
women empowerment
beautiful black women who fucking love eating yogurt
honestly ads are my favorite things. They're the best pulse of society, because they're incentivized by raw money. It's so cold, so honest. they show us everything the consumers want to see. a++
Also, Reddit refuses to let me run ads for Askhole.io, which I guess officially designates it as subversive. The bar to hit subversiveness is a lot lower than I thought.
