There have been a huge number of suggestions that Brexit is all about dodging tax avoidance measures the EU is introducing. Quite honestly when you dig into it further, that doesn't appear to hold up. The UK government is implementing them all.

Plus remember that the other EU countries aren't leaving. So the measures will apply to them, even if they don't to the UK. That would make the kind of tax arrangements where UK companies are domiciled in Luxembourg or Ireland (for example) impossible, regardless of what we do.

Of course, there could be *different* tax advantages. For instance, we could slash corporation tax to undercut EU countries. Or fiddle with VAT to our hearts' content. But on the tax *avoidance* side, it seems there's significantly more tinfoil hattery than truth...
