So the upshot to Giuliani's claim is that the text he tweeted () shows Volker (who works for State) connecting him with Yermak (Zelensky aide) on 7/19.

Claims that this undercuts the whistleblower because WB said the 8/2 meeting was a "direct result" of 7/25 call. What's more, he claims that Zelensky even notes that Giuliani had spoken to an aide prior to the 7/25 call.
However! The WB didn't say it was a "direct result" but that it was "direct follow-up" of the call, which is different in a critical way. Nor does WB assert that Giuliani didn't talk to Yermak until then.
