Not only was Linda Tripp's testimony second hand. But also, she was prodded into recording her phone calls with Monica Lewinsky by Lucianne Goldberg, a long-time right wing hack whose son edited the National Review for many years.

And the thing is, this collection of "the worst people" was not just a function of Trump. It was a function of a GOP that had been trafficking in cynical horribleness for decades, and had driven away almost everyone who had a shred of conscience.

Good Lord, I’ve now experienced Clinton Derangement Syndrome in full force. The Tump/Zalenski call is not hearsay, and it was released by the President himself.
And Linda Tripp was not an eyewitness to any of the actions for which Clinton was tried.
And also, the recordings were illegal under Maryland law.
TIL, many Trump supporters think “hearsay” is a synonym for “false.”

Today I also learned that if you criticize the legitimacy of the Clinton impeachment, that means you think Clinton never did anything wrong. I’m having flashbacks to arguments around the 6th grade lunch table.
