DC circuit upheld repeal of Obama public utility Internet order (yay) but struck down preemption of the states (boo).

Dangerous if not reversed on appeal or fixed by Congress to let states cripple interstate commerce via Internet regulations.
The big news:

@AjitPaiFCC repeal of Obama's public utility Internet order (Title II) was UPHELD. 👏

The restoration of a lightly regulated, free-market approach was LEGAL. 👏

The new transparency rule is LEGAL. 👏

(And the FCC has options to restore pre-emption.)

Treasury IG finds 16,510 tax returns claiming "potentially erroneous" electric vehicle tax credits, totaling $73.8 million.

It's bad enough the mostly rich, mostly Californian buyers of EVs get hefty federal tax breaks. It's even worse that thousands of people who *are ineligible* are also claiming credits.
It's hard to tell from the report what exactly is going because of the heavy redactions.

Looks like people are claiming the credit for unqualified vehicles. Also claiming on leased vehicles, which causes a duplicate payment because leasing company makes the valid claim.

This is the impeachment inquiry resolution from 1998, which is eminently reasonable.
And it is a stark contrast to the Democrats' star chamber inquiry taking place in a SCIF in the Intel committee, which makes me wonder why House Judiciary even exists.
I hope some House member with integrity will reintroduce the above inquiry resolution and start a DISCHARGE PETITION to put all House members on the record on how this process should be conducted.

Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 6 sets forth how grand juries operate. 6(e) says "grand jury materials" ("GJM") are strictly confidential except in a very few circumstances. We'll get to what those are in a sec, but first: what ARE GJM?
2/
GJM are the meat behind a grand jury's decision (whether to indict someone or not). Grand juries subpoena documents, question witnesses, etc.; all that evidence = "grand jury materials" -- and it's all confidential unless a specific exception applies.

Here at Gitmo's Camp Justice, the judge, Air Force Col. W. Shane Cohen, has opened today's 9/11 pretrial hearing. He notes that two of the five defendants are in court -- Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and his nephew Ammar al Baluchi.
As the judge takes attendance, chief prosecutor Brig. Gen. Mark Martins makes an announcement on this 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks: Relatives of 911 victims at Gitmo will be coming and going from the gallery behind the court, quietly, for private commemoration ceremonies.
The judge replies that whatever happens outside the court today has no 'bearing on any matter that will take place today.' He calls it 'inappropriate for me to take it in any further consideration.'

The professional politicians have done an excellent job of splitting up the issues to keep the citizens fighting with each other so we don’t focus on the fact that they are the problem, not us.
The professional wrestling promoters know that good fighting evil and prompting the audience to be involved in the action will keep people engaged. Our career politicians know it, too.

Without a crisis to engage the public, the career politician is less significant.
