There are often attempts to peculiarize India's ills and attribute it to Indian "culture"(eg Caste)

But Pak shares those ills (despite a different culture)

There's something here I'll say that won't please everyone on the Right

A dialogue from the 1970 film "Sharafat" that sums up the unease with "humanities" study among conservatives

"Zyada kitabein padne se aadmi nastik ho jata hai"
So there is always this streak of "anti-intellectualism" that will never go away from the religious Right at least.

But having said that, we all know that tribal anti-intellectualism is never too healthy
The challenge is in building a new Right which is not reflexively anti-intellectual, or anti-thought

It is Navaratri season

While there is a strong association of the festival with Shri Rāmachandra, the primary theme of the festival in much of India is the worship of the feminine power - the Goddess
Shaktism is of course a major tradition in Hinduism where the highest metaphysical reality is feminine and represented by a wide range of Goddesses

But it is also a much misunderstood theological tradition
There is a tendency to view "Shakta" traditions with a regional lens

While it is true that individuals who exclusively regard themselves as "Shakta" are concentrated in Eastern India today, the broader tradition of worshipping the feminine covers all of Hindu society

Interesting question

Growing up I barely ever heard anyone in the family use the term "sanAtana Dharma"

I came across the term in Manu Smrti where it used in a different sense

सत्यं ब्रूयात् प्रियं ब्रूयान्न ब्रूयात् सत्यमप्रियम् ।
प्रियं च नानृतं ब्रूयादेष धर्मः सनातनः॥ १३८ ॥
I think the term is a lot more popular in North India, particularly the North West

Less so in the South

I suspect the Arya Samaj had a big role to play in popularizing this term
Personally I find sanAtana Dharma too sanitized and defensive

Hinduism is OK

Alternatively -

vaIdIka Dharma
Brahmanism

Though the latter two pertain more to the religious practices of the elites

The 12 Su-30 MKIs are being planned to be inducted for replacing the number of aircraft lost by the Air Force in different accidents, they said. The 12 additional Sukhois will help the Indian Air Force to maintain its fleet of 272 Su-30MKI fighters.

India (Bhārat), aka Republic of India (Bhārat Gaṇarājya) constitutes a mosaic of paradoxes and contradictions starting with the existence of gigantic socio-economic disparities which are in sharp contrast with the spectacular technological development in most productive sectors.
Such contradictions reflect significant measurement discrepancies which, in India's case, could be on the order of hundreds of millions of people.
Furthermore, there is the problem of Islamic terrorists, who are trained abroad and find easy fuel in the contradictions within it.
Finally, there’s agriculture which, by some estimates, accounts for 90% of India’s water consumption. Farmers meet irrigation demands by indiscriminately extracting groundwater, which some say accounts for a quarter of the world’s groundwater usage.

Breaking: Large terrorist attack in #India. More than 40 Indian Reserve Police Force personnel were killed and many others injured when Pakistani backed terrorists targeted a convoy with a car bomb at Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir's today, ndtv.com/india-news/15-…
Reports suggested that the vehicle used by the terrorists was a Mahindra Scorpio carrying more than 350 kg of explosives in what is the worst attack ever on security personnel in the state.
Sources said that terrorists triggered the car bomb while 78 vehicles with over 2,500 reserve police men were on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. The stretch on which the incident occurred had been sanitized in the morning & authorities called it a serious breach of security.
