....A direct response marketing strategy I learned from Boarding School Rebels who hated rules and boundaries.
[Sept. 2002]
My parents put me in this missionary school somewhere in Imo State... Orlu.... Awo... in the middle of a thick forest...
You only had access to "provision" once or twice a week and on visiting days -where you were not allowed to take any of it into the hostel -if you did and you were caught... it was hard labor, suspension or expulsion...
Here's what the rebels did
They'd smuggle biscuit, bread, big bite, gala, drinks, sweet, chewing gum.... etc into the hostel
And sell at a mark-up of between 500% to 1000%
Eg: They buy a pack of cabin for N100 and sell for N1000
Some came from struggling homes and only resorted to it as a means of paying school fees and taking care of themselves since they had no one to help with money problems.
Anyway, here's the moral:
2 main reasons a cocaine addict doesn't mind paying so much $$ to the supplier:
1. Hunger: He wants it badly...
*2. Scarcity: He wants to make sure he buys it before your supply finishes
