I have concerns about the city of San Francisco's new Improper Use of Magic Office
SF's regulatory model for housing is working so superbly that it only makes sense to apply it to tech. Love the idea of city officials and the least-busy contingent of the local boomer population collaborating to decide which tech solutions are permitted in public
I'm pretty freaked out by how many VCs & VC-funded founders are beginning to take it as a given that SF's nonviable in the long run for what they're doing. The shift is happening *very* rapidly. And SF governance is still bloating rather than trimming fat. This does not bode well
SF lives or dies on its ability to draw top tier talent that could go anywhere. Yet amidst the country's worst housing crisis & a shocking level of property crime, filth + visible drug use, the city seems sworn to demonize & hamstring its own tax base
