The people who say the EU would be CHOOSING to punish us if they put tariffs on UK goods, are the same people who say that we should leave on WTO rules (which legally force the EU to put its tariffs on UK products if there's no actual deal).
Remember this argument? "Do you really think they'd be stupid enough to put up tariffs, when they know how much they sell us".

For specifics, here you go. You've all heard about how the EU puts tariffs on goods coming from outside the EU, well the WTO, specifically GATT article 1, says the EU has to apply the same tariffs to us that that it applies to everyone else, if we don't have a deal.
