Sounds like Johnson has reached September 2016, when May realised in private that No Deal would be a bad outcome.
By the by, this news "undermines Boris's negotiating position" far more than the Benn Act or "Remoaners plotting with Brussels".
The new private mantra is "any deal is better than No Deal". May's mantra.

Personally I can't see anything other than a split in the Leave movement over this. You can't whip them into a frenzy for No Deal one day & then expect them to stand down the next.
But if that is the new mantra, what motivation do Remainers now have for voting through the deal?
