My son lives off campus and attends FGCU. In the last 3 weeks he showed my on Snapchat a lot of advertising of THC Cartos for sale. When I explained to him that those illicit THC carts Dank Vapes and TKO have been destroying lungs he was very surprised.
He also told me that some of the kids at FGCU had thrown away their Vapes went back to smoking cigarettes but were still Danking or using their THC Carts. I explained that they threw away the wrong device and that his Friends can be in danger of collapsed lungs.
I send him some literature from the FDA and he didn’t really think his friends would listen to it. So then I pulled up information from Leafy a cannabis site and he said that was way more helpful because kids his age have a hard time believing the government.
I highly encouraged him to talk his friends into only buying from the dispensaries and to stick to flower for now until the air clears. Sure it’s a little more expensive in the dispensary and they need their medical card but their life is worth it.
As a parent it completely frightened me to know that these kids thought that vaping nicotine from a vapeshop was the problem but that using THC carts was ok because they trust their drug dealers and they are getting a deal compared to the dispensary. SCARRY!
I took it one step further because as a parent it concerns me that these kids at the college don’t know and I told him to please talk to his friends with or without their medical cards and try to talk them into using flower if they can’t get their cartridges from the dispensary.
Our kids deserve better please keep them safe by delivering a clear message so they aren’t confused. It’s important that while kids shouldn’t smoke or vape cannabis that they understand getting cannabis from the dispensary is a little more expensive but it’s the only safe option.
This new commitment you are making to our children must be a complete clear message that isn’t confusing. I’m very comfortable with my son knowing the truth and staying safe. He doesn’t use THC carts but he was clear that a lot of kids his age and even adults do.

Just a bit of background some of the kids only vape THC they do not vape nicotine at all and we’re never smokers.
As a parent of 4 kids I know a lot of kids that never Juul but do Drink alcohol and smoke cannabis. It’s not about nicotine. It’s about the experimentation age.

Pills has taken my nephews life and 2 of my kids friends.
A car accident killed my sons best friends. And heroine has claimed 4 of kids that my kids went to school with.

These are troubled times and with all due respect the nicotine epidemic while it’s the main subject of conversation is at the bottom of the list of deadly issues.
