RIP Elijah Cummings. He was right that this is our watch, and it's now harder without him.
There have been a handful of Congresspeople who *from the start* responded with the urgency and moral clarity this crisis requires. Cummings was one of those few people. I'm grateful for his efforts and saddened by this news. #RIPElijahCummings
I can't think of another figure involved in the investigation of Trump admin corruption who was as universally trusted as Cummings. People from many sides who often disagree respected him. You could see that respect in action at the Michael Cohen hearing. What a tremendous loss.
