@LawrenceAbrams By partnering with adware bundles that pretend to be cracks, warez, and in some cases free software downloads, the STOP Ransomware is currently the most active ransomware in the wild.

Based on data from ID Ransomware, there have been over 100,000 STOP Ransomware victims, but the total amounts are probably much higher.
These victims are mostly consumers and have been desperate to recover their files. With constant Twitter DMs, emails, tweets to researchers, and the over 520 page support topic at BleepingComputer, this decryptor is welcome indeed.

A Steam scam is underway that begins with a user receiving a Steam message from a friend telling them about a site that they can use to get a free game.
Little does the recipient know that the person's account that is sending the message has been hacked and sucked into a elaborate scam campaign targeting Steam users.

While extensions are very helpful, they can also be harmful to users who install them. We have been tracking unwanted and malicious extensions for years and they can be as damaging as regular malware due to our constant use of the web for sensitive transactions. (1/X)
For example, hackers breaking into developer accounts to modify popular extensions so that they steal the private keys for online cryptocurrency wallets and login credentials for popular sites.

1) the lack of support for IT or the Citrix team first to do the right thing for the business
2) a lack of talent to trust IT/Citrix team to execute
3) legitimate lack of talent
@stealthpuppy @reillyusa @james_kindon The new world is automation. If you can’t have an @xenappblog -type environment because no one on your team can script... you will have a bad time. At one time I had a team of 6 and there was myself and one other who knew PowerShell. Business sees this as risky!
@stealthpuppy @reillyusa @james_kindon @xenappblog Rightfully so! I had the opportunity to shape a team and my hiring priorities wasn’t experience or who you knew. It was did you know how to script-automate? How do you tackle new problems? How are you at learning new things? (And others)

But these were priorities.

An advertisement on a forum that sells data breach information is also offering the personally identifiable details and voting history of millions of US residents. The estimated size of the cache is in excess of 35 million records. bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/…
The announcement says that the data sold is from updated statewide voter lists, and includes millions of phone numbers, full addresses, and names. BleepingComputer counted it to be from 20 states.
The seller provides the number of records only for the lists in three of the states: Louisiana (3 million), Wisconsin (6 million) and Texas (14 million), offering them for prices between $1,300 and $12,500.
