Oh wow. John Kasich, who came 3rd to Trump in the 2016 Republican presidential primary, has just come out FOR impeachment.
Kasich says 'there are lines which simply cannot be crossed'. Says he has consulted his conscience. Predicts he will take 'heat' for going public with his view.
Kasich says he was reluctant to make decision. Predicts people will be "angry". But says you have to "look at yourself" and ask what is expected from a president.
Worth noting for those back home, Kasich is a known Trump critic openly mulling a primary attempt in 2020. But also a leading voice in the GOP's moderate wing.
Kasich is now one of the most prominent Republicans backing impeachment.
