There are so many serious Republicans who have heeded the call of history and called Trump a criminal and existential threat. But they’re not in office. They’ve been cannibalized by an extremist movement. What this party has become is just ghastly.
Don’t forget how many lifelong Republicans have stepped in front of this train and how they’ve been treated. Robert Mueller was brutalized for months by Fox News as a traitor to the country. He was a war hero and dedicated servant.
The Republican Party needs to go away and make room for something, some body that has a responsibility to its constituents, an eye toward consistency and good faith, something that isn’t rotting from the inside out.
