For some people the myth of the competent wealthy is what led to the worldwide globalist system where the market was trusted to pick winners and losers. Well, it’s picked a lot of losers as winners because, surprise, it’s inherently rigged to advantage the already-powerful.
The appeals against the ultra-rich and the overly-powerful are bolstered by Trump’s glaring lack of talent. He’s failed up his entire life, has been aided by an economy, judicial system, media, and social order that privileges the privileged. For some, that broke the spell.
Trump’s abysmal, obvious failure of a presidency is already leading to a vast reconsideration of so many preconceived notions about wealth, power, gender, the political system, history, that it could lead to reform on a massive scale.
