THREAD: This got me —> “We have done so much more with so much less that I often forget we’re not competing with the same resources as our opponents. I’m only reminded in moments when it becomes painfully clear, and we’re at one of those moments right now.”
Here are a few things our scrappy team has accomplished across Nevada.

✅ Shine light on the forgotten homeless community living in the storm drain tunnels under the strip

✅Our state staff was the 1st to do a 4 day rural tour to 11 communities in July
✅1st candidate to visit Elko
✅focused on Native American outreach—a community often ignored by campaigns
✅JC’s op-ed standing against military expansion into sacred land➡️ bit.ly/2oXehnS
✅We’ve earned endorsements across NV, including the first automatic-delegate from NV, DNC member @Allison4Nevada who serves as the Chairwoman on our NV advisory board
✅Earned endorsement of the best organizer in NV, Hispanic Caucus Chairman, Assemblyman @EdgarFloresNV
✅To date, @JulianCastro has visited Nevada more than any other candidate (10X) #WeMatter
✅Went to Broadacres, a safe space in the Hispanic community
✅Toured @threesquareLV, prepared meals and met with 10 community partners
✅Spoke with members at the MLK Jr Senior Center
✅Met with the Immigrant Home Foundation, a Las Vegas immigration clinic where he learned about the change in U visas making it harder for immigrant to report crimes

✅ First candidate to visit West Wendover (ever) & earn the endorsement of Mayor @DanielCoronaNV
✅Listened during rural healthcare roundtable where folks told Julián we can’t talk about Medicare for All when the nearest doctor is two hours away
✅Spoke at the @NevadaNOW meeting where he re-declared his stance supporting the ERA, repeal the Hyde amendment, reaffirmed abortion care is healthcare, & abortion rights include the trans community. “Everyone should have access to reproductive care, regardless of their income.”
✅Julián has been outspoken on the need to stop treating homelessness individuals as second class citizens by working with @NHAvoice, @helpsonv, @maketheroadnv & others to stop the Las Vegas Homeless ordinance criminalizing homelessness
✅Gave homeless folks meals w/ AAPI Caucus
✅Our team has held information meetings in immigrant communities on the 2020 immigration policies and how they affect their families
✅Out team held Latinx Leaders trainings and two fellowship classes to build a pipeline of talent in NV
✅Held meet & greets in Latino neighborhoods that do not get the attention from campaigns they deserve
✅Julián was the 1st candidate to visit @NVYouthNetwork, an after school program inside Sherman Gardens public housing—speaking with kids about gun violence they experience
✅Julián met with educators, administrators, and students at Western HS to talk about the challenges students with disabilities face when trying to get into college
✅Our CM @MayaRupert hosted a Women of Color Coffee in Reno and a powerful Black Women Leaders house party in Vegas
I think I could keep going but I’ll end to say Team Nevada has used every opportunity to meet people where they are and bring them off the sidelines. Proud of all we’ve done — please help us continue to our work: bit.ly/Castro800NV
