HOW TO OVERCOME THE FEAR OF REJECTION

The greatest fear in the world is the fear of rejection.

We have grown up to desire to be accepted and whenever we present anything to someone and they tell us the dreaded word NO, we become devastated.

This fear has crippled many of us
This fear has made us timid

This fear prevents many of us from asking for what we want.

This fear has made many of us miss the woman of our dreams.

This fear has made many of us lose deals that could change our finances.

This fear has destroyed some of our businesses
You sell very wonderful products.

You tell people about the product, but you find it hard to tell them to actually give you money for it.

It is this fear that makes us beg people to pay for our products or service.

We feel people will reject us, so we try to use appeal to/
/sympathy to try to get them to buy from us.

The fear of rejection is one that once you overcome, you will see yourself soar.

You will see yourself dream and dare for more.

You'll see yourself become better and make smarter decisions.

How then can we overcome the fear of
Rejection?

First, let's talk about what causes fear of rejection.

One word: PROGRAMMING!

It is a Learned behavior.

Similarly, if you must overcome this fear, you need to realize that you have to reprogram your mind and begin to learn new patterns.
Here are some truths about rejection:

1. Rejection is a standard of life and business.

As longs as people are not robots,

As long as people have their own will power and ability to make their own decisions, you will experience rejection.

Why? Because:
2. People will not always see things your way.

That is why they say no.

Because they are seeing it their way.

3. Rejection is not personal.

No, it isn't.

Last night, a friend of mine called me, lamenting bitterly.

He had reached out to his best friend to partner with him
On this project he strongly believed could change their lives.

But his best friend declined.

He felt pained.

He told me he was going to cut off from this friend, since he couldn't see the vision.

I spoke to him and told him to think well.

If his decision was stemming/
/from a state of bitterness, then it was the wrong move.

4. Rejection doesn't always mean that something is wrong with you.

It could just be a problem with your method or system or approach.

How then can you overcome rejection?

Here are some tips I gave my friend last night:
1. Check your expectations.

I believe that expectations is the biggest reason we feel this way.

We expect people to buy from us or buy into our idea.

And when they don't, we go off. And choose to kill the idea.

No.

Without expectation, there will be no disappointment
You should never place your expectations on people entirely.

Place it on the vision.

If this person doesn't buy into it now, someone else will.

2. Dare to do the things that scare you.

Simple.

If you are always scared of selling because you fear you will be rejected, the/
/only way to overcome this is by actually going out there and selling.

And here's the amazing part:

The more you do this, the more confident you'll become, the more sales you'll make.
Remember, rejection does not necessarily mean something is wrong with you.

It could mean that there is something you need to learn or develop.

So go build those skills.

Go tone those muscles.
