At the risk of being repetitive, let me try to reiterate the following. I receive a bewildering number of messages from students and professors asking me how they can speak their minds and fight against the dreadful ideas without incurring ANY costs. This is like asking whether
there is a way to jump into the ocean whilst insuring that one does not get wet. Or perhaps whether it is possible to eat 30 buckets of chicken wings whilst not putting on any weight. Going against the totalitarian orthodoxy involves risks. This is a WAR of ideas. In a war,
it is impossible to fight whilst asking a guarantee that no ill consequences will befall you. Think back to the young men who stormed the beaches of Normandy. Hence, if you wish to fight against horrifying ideas, put on your big boy pants and fight. Or accept your cowardice
and don't fight. But please enough with the "I'd like to join you Dr. Saad and fight against this lunacy but I don't want to suffer ANY prospective consequences." I look forward to the next 10,000 emails that ask me how to fight whilst being safe.
And no, tenure does not protect one from the innumerable social, personal, and professional costs that one must bear to fight against enemies of reason. I'd be happy to share my death threats folder with you...
