2/6 Socialists exist in order to help the exploited & oppressed discover their collective strength through organising and direct such efforts towards achieving their class interests.

3/6 When women lose their hard-won rights it directly affects the whole of the class. The context is still set by the 2008 crisis that hasn't resolved for 11yrs. Austerity hit women the hardest & is followed by legalising prostitution & surrogacy and banning abortion. #WarOnWomen
4/6 All of this has direct negative consequences on the morale of the working class, its political horizons and militancy. We cannot expect victories if we pretend we don't suffer defeats.
And we won't have experienced women organisers if we keep selling them down the river.

5/6 So, for those of us who believe that the 'emancipation of the working class must be the work of the working class itself', defending women's sex-based rights from the ongoing attack by the liberal wing of the ruling class is absolutely integral to advancing our class power.
