🚨Bloomberg's Tesla Model 3 Survey results🚨

In May, we started asking Model 3 owners about what it's like to own a Tesla, and they had a *lot* to say. We’ve crunched 500,000 words of feedback into four days of findings. Today is Part 1: Quality 1/ bloomberg.com/graphics/2019-…
First up: Tesla is getting better at making cars. Many early Model 3s were marred by defects, which peaked at 80 issues per 100 cars in Q3 2018. A year later, Q3 defects had dropped by 44%. Here’s a monthly breakdown 2/ bloomberg.com/graphics/2019-…
Most problems were on the exterior. The most common issues, perhaps not surprisingly, were paint defects, panel gaps, and scratches and dents. About 12% of owners reported some kind of paint imperfection 3/ bloomberg.com/graphics/2019-…
We went deep into the types of and frequency of problems reported by owners. We sorted the comments by key complaints, or you can also use our search bar. There's a lot to explore here 4/ bloomberg.com/graphics/2019-…
As one owner said, “Quality is measured in different ways.” Notwithstanding initial flaws, they raved about their cars. A near-unanimous 99.6% of respondents said the Model 3 is a pleasure to drive. It’s hard to find such consensus over anything really bloomberg.com/graphics/2019-… 5/
One of the best things about this project is reading the owners' own words. They provide a lot of nuance that a simple chart or twitter thread can’t. If you’ve read this far, you should really check it out bloomberg.com/graphics/2019-…
This was just Part 1, and there’s killer stuff to come. Great work here by incredible colleagues, especially @dean_halford, @cedricsam, @YueQiu_cuj. And the biggest thanks to all of the owners who put so much time and thought into taking our survey 🙏bloomberg.com/graphics/2019-… 7/
