Whenever Trump's lackeys say "let the people decide!", remember:
- the people decided to elect Obama and gave him the right to nominate Merrick Garland
- the people decided to flip the House blue in 2018
- the GOP is the party of vote suppression and extreme gerrymandering
When Congress Republicans block the will of the people and turn around and say "let the people decide", it's more gaslighting from an abusive, authoritarian party. rantt.com/brett-kavanaug…
The thing is, the modern GOP - Trump's GOP - doesn't ever really want the people to decide. Unless you're talking about rich, straight, abled white Christian men. Every single thing they do and say comes down to that. They're the minority rule party.

In this context - the GOP as an authoritarian, minority rule party - their invocation of "let the people decide" has a darker meaning. As @ThePlumLineGS points out, it's dangerous demagogic rhetoric.
@ThePlumLineGS Pure gaslighting from an authoritarian’s lapdog.
