Statement of November 6, 2019, Concerning the Suspected Identity of the Whistleblower

Identifying any suspected name for the whistleblower will place that individual and their family at risk of serious harm.
2/We will not confirm or deny any name that is published or promoted by supporters of the President. Disclosure of any name undermines the integrity of the whistleblower system and will deter any future whistleblowers.
END/We will note, however, that publication or promotion of name shows desperation to deflect from substance of #whistleblower complaint. It will not relieve the President of the need to address the substantive allegations, all of which have been substantially proven to be true.

1/Our legal team offered GOP direct opportunity to ask written questions of #whistleblower.

Recent GOP messaging, led by President Trump (incl this morning), has been to highlight original #WBer & demand disclosure of identity.
2/Despite long standing policy of HPSCI to protect #whistleblowers, especially anonymity (btw, this was consistent with my efforts w/GOP on #Benghazi), GOP has sought to expose our client's identity which could jeopardize their safety, as well as that of their family.
3/We have directly engaged GOP as to the irrelevance of the whistleblower's information and identity (including addressing any issue of bias), but with little effect in halting the attacks. Btw, countless OIG complaints are filed anonymously & full of hearsay. It's common.

In correspondence dated October 22, 2019, the Counsel of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency made it clear that “Whistleblowers play an essential public service in coming forward” by reporting their reasonable belief of waste, fraud, abuse, and misconduct,
and that whistleblowers “should never suffer reprisal or even the threat of reprisal for doing so.” Significantly, the letter quotes Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA), Chairman and co-founder of the U.S. Senate’s Whistleblower Caucus, who noted recently regarding this matter,

Sure is interesting that the alleged whistleblower’s lawyers:

- Either worked or interned for Dems and/or donated to Dems (such as Clinton, Biden & Schumer)

- Had John Podesta on the board of directors of Zaid’s Madison Project

- One was former IC IG

One of the lawyers, Andrew Bakaj, was a whistleblower against the CIA OIG in 2014, during Obama’s term. He used to be a lawyer in the CIA OIG office.

1) Hundreds of parents signed our open letter asking @Girlguiding to review their policy that allows boys who identify as girls to sleep in tents with other girls without telling patents. Two guide leaders have now been thrown out and their units closed. thetimes.co.uk/article/34139e…
