THREAD: A challenge w/ writing publishable and readable pieces is that I can't riff on points that really, really, really piss (not a swear word growing up so not now either) me off. So after you read ⬇️come back for my vent. 1/
2/ Now re-read this thread I wrote before on Flynn. (I've since changed my mind because of the points that really, really, really pissed me off).
3/ So my previous reaction that Flynn either lied to FBI or lied when pleading guilty is true & as I said at time I get why he did it but he must accept consequences of that, much like those who engage in civil disobedience do--you may be justified but you have punishment due.

0. Last year, I nuked my Twitter archive & started over. But I saved it & promised that if anybody wanted me to recreate one of the threads that was lost, I would. Well, I got such a request! So here's a thread that originally went up in April of 2018 (unchanged from original).
1. A tweet thread about who is and isn't "emotional" and what role that accusation plays in politics. Been meaning to do this for a while, but it's come up again in the news, so no time like the present.
2. The notion that men are "rational" and women "emotional" goes way, way back. It's certainly something I've heard all my life and something that, as an emotionally illiterate young person, I was willing and eager to believe. It explained away my social failures!

This happened to me at work. I was told I couldn't wear political attire for the "possibility of offending someone". I asked for the policy in Oct 2018 in which it specifically states that I cannot wear a MAGA hat at work (before open to the public).

To this day I have yet to recieve the policy. The only policy that was given to me was the standard corporate policy and an amended store policy that states vaguely "neat clean and professional." And no other hats except Costco apparel hats. I have documented the abuses of the
Policies put out by management and corporate since my incident to include violations by upper management. To include when I was written up for missing my scheduled shift and the AGM wore a Cubs hat during the disciplinary sit down. I complied with the policy only wearing my MAGA

I met these young women while walking my pups in my beachside community. For privacy reasons, I won’t share their real names (let’s call them “Julie” and “Amy”), but they graciously allowed me to share their stories.
One the best parts of walking my “boys” (Bowen and Bynum) is that I get to meet lots of strangers. I mean, who can resist these two?😍

Seriously, the pups break the ice, and as a consequence, I’ve met lots of interesting people.

This Wed/Thu at the Phoenix Park Hotel in Washington, DC, there's a hate con going on: the 12th annual radio row for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

They pay for radio hosts to come to DC and interview elected officials and others.
They call it "Hold Their Feet To The Fire." Past guests include conservative commentators Michelle Malkin and Lou Dobbs, and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Paul Gosar (AZ-4), and Daryl Metcalfe (PA-12).
This is FAIR in action: they amplify their message of hate, applying the veneer of validity by inviting elected officials and other influencers. This is where people who listen to talk radio get their ideas.

FAIR's Radio Row is a hate con, plain and simple.
