First of all, I don’t think it’s even true about television. Audiences build over time.
But forget that debate. And forget the big suspense over whether Democrats will execute these hearings flawlessly. They won’t. We all know that. The question is whether all the flawed people involved—Congress members, witnesses, reporters, public—can uphold the republic.

The subpoena to Mick Mulvaney issued yesterday.
The motion also has letters from the White House Counsel and DOJ attached. They move pretty quick when it’s the acting chief of staff.

Vindman, the National Security Council’s top Ukraine expert, told lawmakers that after attending Ukrainian President Zelensky’s inauguration in May, Vindman had been looking forward to debriefing Trump and giving a positive account of Zelensky’s vision for Ukraine’s future.
