While we await the publication of their full manifesto (none of the major parties have published yet) the LibDem's 5-point plan looks pretty good...

Worth noting that the independent Full Fact fact checking charity sees the LibDem's £50 billion "Remain Bonus" as a reasonable estimate, though not definitive. (Unlike the Tory and Labour spending pledges, which all ignore Brexit's effects.)

Intriguingly, the 4th and 5th parts of the plan don't seem to have been officially launched yet in that they're not mentioned in the "News" section of the LibDem site. Yet they're already on the summary page I linked to...

Friday 14 November is an important day because it is the last chance for parties to register candidates with the Electoral Commission, or withdraw them. After that the lists are frozen.

So all deals and pacts have to be finalised by then. Expect frantic horse trading!
It also means that, after 14 November:
A) Parties, eg the Brexit Party, could say they're not going to fight certain seats (they could stop campaigning there for instance) but their candidates will still be on the actual ballot
B) Parties are stuck with scandalous candidates (!)
Um, I've just been reminded that the 14th is Thursday. Sorry about that. It's definitely the deadline, though!

Here's why we will *never* get good trade deals outside the EU... It's hardly rocket science. We may be the 6th largest economy in the world, but the graph drops off like a cliff. We're small fry compared to the sharks: the USA, EU and China. We have no chance!

And before you go all "but Brexit was not about the economy" on me, how do you think we pay for everything else? Can't tackle the NHS, hire more police, reverse school cuts or do anything else if the asteroid strike of Brexit has cratered the UK economy. Wakey wakey!
Finally, we're the world's 6th largest economy (used to be the 5th before Brexit, but who's counting) *because* we're in the EU, not *despite* of it! So using our supposed economic strength as an argument to "prove" we'll be OK if we go it alone is logically absurd.

Since the 2016 referendum, the EU has secured free trade deals with:
- Japan
- Canada
- Singapore
- Vietnam
- MERCOSUR group nations (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay & Uruguay)

That means after Brexit, we're not just giving up what we had in June 2016, but a lot more besides!
Japan: €6.5 billion in exports, €11.4 billion in imports. Our 6th largest non-EU trading partner. Estimated 90,915 UK jobs dependent on our trade with Japan.

Ok, so. As many followers will be aware, I'm on the #LibDems Federal Policy Committee - the body that writes in depth policy papers (& ultimately the Manifesto)

So I decided to look at Labour's newly announced Ofsted policy.

They don't publish detailed plans of what they'll do, so I'm running on statements from official spokespeople.

Hank feels like he's moving through a fog as he waits to get through security at the airport. It's odd, the way the world keeps moving even though something crucial has been cut out from within him. He's wounded, a gaping, ugly thing that he can hardly bear, but no one even knows
He thought something died a little bit inside him when Jen first told him she was leaving Detroit. They had been split for a while, and Hank was slowly adjusting to this new normal where he only saw Cole on weekends. It wasn't so bad, especially when he looks back on it now.

Much more than we currently do in my view. For these reasons:
1. Apart from the current dispute w/ Russia, Brexit has made politics more parochial & domestic-obsessed than ever. I believe the #LibDems should focus on bringing a wider, international perspective & that would also serve to distinguish us from middle England Tories & Labour.
2. Our economy, NHS, environment (& other things the @LibDems care abt) can't be fixed unilaterally/through domestic means alone. We need cross-border, multilateral approaches. Indeed this thinking is at the ♥️ of our campaign for the UK to stay in the EU & an #ExitFromBrexit.
