I just saw this map on my timeline and assumed it was a crude anti-Bloomberg hoax. It’s not.
This is a real map that Schoen put together as part of Bloomberg’s 2016 exploratory bid. It was written up in the Times and WaPo. It’s real.
Who would win in Mississippi and Idaho if Donald Trump ran against not one but two old Jewish guys from New York City? IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO SAY. COULD BE ANY OF THE THREE.
What would happen in Ohio if a tiny Boston billionaire who hates soda pop ran against two candidates with strong appeal to the white working class? BLOOMBERG, BABY!
So I’m giving up trying to figure out why Bloomberg is doing what he’s doing. We have our answer. He and his team are fundamentally incompetent at politics.
(There is also a Clinton map. It is also preposterous.)
I can’t stop staring at these maps.
Bloomberg wins Tennessee but not Rhode Island! Trump wins Arizona but not Kentucky! Bernie wins Washington but not Vermont!
If I gave this project to my 12-year-old and she came back with this I’d be mad at her for so flagrantly half-assing it. If my 16-year-old came back with it I’d check her for signs of fever and disorientation.
