How to build a capsule closet, because every woman deserves a closet that makes her feel elegant and empowered ✨✨✨
Building a capsule closet isn’t an easy task. I know it sounds silly to say, but to truly build a capsule closet, takes time, patience, and most of all dedication.

The purpose of a capsule closet is to train your brain for delayed gratification.
Delayed gratification is an overlooked skill of the wealthy, and this is largely due to social media. Showing only the highlights of one’s life, you wouldn’t know how long they worked to accumulate their status that you’re in awe of.
This is why training your brain for delayed gratification is important. We live in a fast society, and fast things are not sustainable, down to fast fashion.

The easiest way I’ve found to build your gratification muscle is to build a wardrobe full of long term intentions.
To help building your gratification, ask these 3 things:

1. What is my vision of success?
2. Do I present myself in my vision of success?
3. Is my current closet/wardrobe shaped for my success/future?

Be honest with yourself about where your style currently is.
By acknowledging where your closet is, you’re able to see what type of gratification you’re indulging in.

Are your clothes super trendy? Always the hottest thing of the season? Super clubby? Super safe? What does your closet look like you do for a living??
This is important because your closet is more likely to reflect your current interest and lifestyle as opposed to the future you aren’t living in (just yet)

But as @JulietCObodo tweeted, you need to actively BE who you want, and that’s how you become.
Here’s a link to the thread she did about how to embody the person you envision yourself as and how to build the habits you need to consistently support yourself in doing so

@JulietCObodo
A capsule closet is a great way to do that! By embodying the style of who you’re aiming to be, you’re constantly channeling a presentation that encourages you to spiritually measure up to what you’re putting into the world physically.
Embodiment of a style is not paying for high price fashion. That’s a quick cover up, because it’s instant.
"Oh let me buy a new Chanel so I can feel like a Boss B*"
No!
"Let me invest in a quality leather bag while I work on myself so that I feel good while doing so"
Yes!
When your first decide to build your closet, it won’t be exactly what you think. I was very street style femme in the beginning, and only wore all black because it was safe to switch up. This was just in October 2018.
I did not and do not buy designer because I cannot afford it. So instead I focus on sharpening skills that will bring the money I need to attain those luxury items.

Instead of splurging on a new wardrobe, I buy essentials and add as I go. I have been doing this for a year now
The goal is to be focused on my spiritual goals, the outter is just a plus because it’s aligned with who I am. I’m not phased by every trend or hot item or newest IG baddie because I built a capsule closet centered around my own journey and my own goals.
That’s the beauty and benefit of building a capsule closet.

Aligning yourself with who you know you are, and guiding yourself into who you’re meant to be ✨✨✨✨✨
