A thread sharing some of my thoughts with you.

Staring a very uncertain future in the face, within a very short period of time, all I can think about is all the things I still want to do.

If I am granted asylum, and able to continue my life's work, here's what I wish for:

Everyday I am contacted by targets of Western intelligence agencies who have no one to turn to. They beg me for help. I have no way to help them, other than to educate about the methodologies employed against them.

I want to create a space for targets to find support & justice.

Building on the work we did to defend UN Special Rapporteur Nils Melzer when his career was under attack, I want to progress setting up an organisation to guard against politicisation of rape and sexual abuse.

We successfully intervened once to stop the mobbing, and can again.

I have always felt that #DecipherYou was my most important work to date. I want to resume the series, hopefully with Binney or someone as knowledgable, and continue to read through and study the remaining 700 or so Snowden files that we haven't yet. The info in them is important.

I never forget my home country and I watch carefully the developments there. Simply watching isn't enough. I want the time and space and resources to revitalise @InternetPartyNZ, and in particular, to fight against the dismantling of due process and civil rights that is occurring

@InternetPartyNZ In terms of journalism, in these last few days of guaranteed liberty I will try to write one final important piece about WikiLeaks. But there is a long list of things I have always wanted to investigate but haven't got to yet. I'd love to work with @nw_nicholas & look into HSBC.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas I've deliberately let @1vs5i have a slow start and build incrementally as I have a very long term view of the movement. I want over time for it to coalesce into a successful strategic litigation to set some really important precedents holding the offending agencies to account.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i I also want it to continue to be an educational platform such as hasn't existed elsewhere that I'm aware of. There should almost be a new field of study that disassembles and makes sense of the structures of control that many Westerners are oblivious to the fact of living under.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i I want to continue to be fostered by great activists with decades more experience than me. I am the product of their love and their teachings - and in some cases, their intervention in my life! And I want to continue to foster new activists. I love raising them up just as I was.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i I am not an island. Nothing is more satisfying than giving what I can to individuals who I see merit in and then watching them grow wings and take off in their own right. Or for those who have invested time and effort and faith in me, to feel proud of what I do and accomplish.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i I owe so many people thank you's and I'll try to say them all on my final stream next Sunday night. Even people I've rubbed the wrong way against or reacted badly to for whatever reason, have taught me something. Often about my own imperfections and reactions. Life lessons, all.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i We all have an internal voice, an internal critic, and mine always says to me 'you haven't done enough! You haven't done x, y, z! You've failed to a, b, c! You could do d, e, f! Hurry up! You can do more!'

That voice is a pain in the ass but I love it too. It keeps me agile.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i If the asylum isn't granted or if for any reason I am rendered unable to work, I hope that people will pour over my entire body of work, find the nuggets, the gems, preserve them and circulate them as widely as possible.

There is a lot there to be discovered and learned from.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i I have an amazing team of activists and lawyers who will coordinate and work closely to fight for my freedom and safety if the situation requires it. In the occasion of my absence, please support them in doing so. They have access to my social accounts and will keep you updated.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i One final thing I'd love to do - resume and finish 'Kiwi in Moscow'. Ksenia is so fun and I love showing people the truth behind the lies. And I'd love to have more visitors here. It's been so wonderful to get to have Craig, Graham and others stay with me and to show them around.

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i On that note - over the next 10 days, a filmmaker friend of mine will be coming to stay with me, to bear witness to and document this last period of time before I find out what the future holds. So there will be a full feature about this journey and you'll get to see it firsthand

@InternetPartyNZ @nw_nicholas @1vs5i Due to that, I might not be around on social media much through this period. But don't worry - I'm not alone, I'm supported, I'm loved.

What will be will be.
