For a decade, the Tories have treated the UK as their own private punchbag. Punitive cuts as far as the eye can see, while the rich get richer. Here's the whole sorry tale...

1. Factoring in inflation, wages are still not back to pre-recession levels.

2. The Tories cut over 20,000 police in England and Wales (recent talk of hiring 20,000 more would still leave us about 1,000 short of the force's staffing levels before they came to power.)

3. Meanwhile, knife crime is up. A lot.

4. Total spending per pupil has fallen approx. 8% in real terms between 2009-10 and 2017-18. (The government was later accused of misrepresenting the data in the IFS report to underplay the damage, an accusation upheld by fact checkers.)

5. Waiting lists for hospital admissions have grown under the Tories, and a record 4.5 million people are now waiting for hospital treatment.

6. Patients are facing much *much* longer waits in A&E. The situation is the worst it has ever been.

7. The 62-day waiting time target for cancer treatment hasn't been met since 2013. (I'm sure everyone knows somebody who's been affected by this. I certainly do.)

8. After inflation, local authority spending has fallen on everything except children's social care. Overall, it's fallen 30% per person in real terms due to government cuts.

9. Planning changes have allowed authorities to eat into the Green Belt. Chomp, chomp, chomp! In total, 13,200 hectares of Green Belt land has been lost since 2010. That's nearly 51 square miles! (You might argue we needed to do so to build more houses..)

10. After declining after the financial crash, personal insolvencies have soared again following the Brexit vote.
