1/So, I'm skeptical that voting on Articles on Impeachment in Dec and tossing it over to the Senate for a Jan trial is best way for the House to proceed. I lay out the reasons why in this thread.

So what should we do? Here is one possible path.

2/Given what we're learning in current Ukraine inquiry, House should consider creating 2 parallel tracks. The 1st can look at the crimes the President may have committed. The 2nd can examine whether the President's foreign policy has failed to advance US security interests.

3/The first track - whether the President has committed crimes, Impeachable offense - can be run by Judiciary and look at full range of his lawlessness, incl Cohen/Stormy, obstruction in 2017, 2018 and 2019, bribery, extortion, election law.

4/The second track - whether the President has sacrificed our national security for his interests, or those of others (Putin, Erdogan, MBS) - can be run by some combo of Intel, Foreign Affairs, Armed Services.

5/How long would this take? I would let these two tracks run until mid January. More fact gathering. And the Speaker can make clear that until the President stops his illegal obstruction of the inquiry, will be very hard to bring it to the Senate.

6/I don't know what's best. But what remains unprecedented, and hard to understand how to manage, is the corruption of the Senate process by Lindsay Graham. If Senate will be a farce, why bring it to the Senate at all? Just keep holding hearings in the House. Educate the public.

7/What do you think? Weigh in here folks.

We are facing some really serious Constitutional issues here, and what hangs over everything is whether the President has repeatedly sold out the US to other nations for his own benefit. Serious stuff. House needs to get it right.
