Q: My wife has been through five rounds of interviews at her "dream" company. All positive feedback but no formal offer. The offer being discussed is roughly $15K below market value according to other industry contacts. I think she should move on.

Do you agree?
A. I have two thoughts. Yes, for sure she should move on because these people could pick her brain forever and never make an offer - and even if they did make an offer, why would she work for $15K less than the market if she is good at what she does? I assume she is very good.
But apart from these amateurs I don’t want your wife or anyone else to ever, ever wait around to see what one particular employer does. Send another Pain Letter, or two, or three! Don’t wait. Your only power is your ability to walk away.
Every day she sits by the phone waiting, her power diminishes.

Your goal as a job seeker is to generate so much activity that you can’t keep all the different employers and opportunities straight.
