After this week's testimony, I am more worried than I ever have been about the future of the country. 1/

It's clear that Donald Trump is unfit for the presidency in many ways. This week confirmed that he has used extortion, bribery, whatever you want to call it, to get personal gain from his position as President. 2/

We can add his general demeanor as a mob boss, his complete lack of empathy or human feeling, his willingness to pardon war crimes and what that says about his beliefs about the military, the damage his cabinet is doing to the country in many ways. 3/

I'd like to attribute the hearings to the House Intelligence Committee, but the Republicans on the committee make it impossible.

Devin Nunes spews the conspiracy theories that Fiona Hill said were furthering the influence of the same adversary country that helped Trump in 2016.

Gym Jordan performs. His words are incoherent, accompanied by the smirks that he probably showed the students who complained to him about being molested in the locker room. 5/

The performance of other Republicans on the committee was equally reprehensible. None, not even Will Hurd, who is retiring, saw anything wrong with the President's behavior and attacked the witnesses in various ways. 6/

Such uniform venality characterizes today's Republican Party. I won't go into possible reasons for it, although an unreasoning desire for power and money can cover for now.

Certainly no love of country whatsoever. 7/

Please, please, flood your Congressional delegation with calls and emails, particularly if they are Republican.

We must remove this President, as soon as possible. 8/8
