First live-caller post debate poll has good news for Buttiegieg and no one else can be super thrilled with their numbers tbh. poll.qu.edu/national/relea…
Quinnipiac has generally had good numbers for Warren and bad ones for Biden so his 24% looks a little better and her 14% looks worse in that context. Warren does have a lot of second choice support in this poll but that topline number is quite poor for her.
Buttigieg is quite successfully capturing the "somewhat liberal" lane, where a lot of Democratic voters reside. Overall, this primary is playing out in a way to suggest that left-right (or left-center) ideological positioning does matter after all.
Warren still leads on the question of who has the best policy ideas, but her support has fallen from 40% to 23% on that question. The ideologically vague "I've got a plan for that" messaging was working but may have been derailed by health care, etc.
It does appear that most of Warren's erosion on this question is from moderates.
