Can we trust Corbyn to keep us safe when he has a voting record on terrorism like this (2005-09)?

In July 1994, a car bomb exploded outside the Israeli embassy in west London, a few hours later a second CAR bomb exploded outside a Jewish charity in north London.

Fortunately there were no fatalities, but 20 people were injured.

Israeli PM Rabin said they were 'part of a ploy by Islamic fundamentalists to try and sabotage the growing chance of a comprehensive Middle-East peace.' 2
Several people were arrested and eventually tried including Jawad Botmeh and Samar Alami.

Of note is that the explosive that Botmeh and Alami made TATP, was the same used by the shoe bomber Richard Reid. 3

Let's take a look at a few of the condemnations. 1/12
The first Labour leader to condemn Corbyn & Livingstone (& John McDonnell) was Michael Foot back in 1982 when they invited Adams, McGuiness & Morrison to meet them in London in the middle of an IRA terror campaign in 1982. 2
In 1984 Corbyn was again condemned after inviting 2 convicted IRA terrorist to Parliament, just days after they murdered 5 people at Brighton.

Neil Kinnock accused Corbyn of acting "stupidly"
The chief whip said he was "indifferent to the outrage, the suffering and the killing"

3/ In 2009, #Corbyn warmly called Hezbollah "friends," described them as committed to "peace, social justice, and political justice," and called on people to support them. Hezbollah, a proscribed terror organization, inter alia had BOMBED AN ARGENTINA JEWISH CENTER, killing 85.

This morning I sent a tweet to someone who was clearly smearing #Corbyn I started by saying "You joined the Lib Dems because you are a #Tory You line your pockets on the hard work of others." For my troubles I received a lot of abuse.
Nice to know that remainers consider a nurse and veteran a cultist dickhead. I actually voted remain, but would rather see Corbyn negotiate a trade deal that keeps many of the freedoms we have than have a no deal Brexit!
To debate and discuss the nuances of brexit etc. Is one thing but to use #Antisemitism #Racism #Cult and the notion that Lib Dems are progressive is another.

Corbyn & May have one big thing in common, which is at the core of our current problems: both draw their authority from a vote outside Parliament, & regard decisions by MPs that conflict with it as illegitimate. In a parliamentary constitution, that's a recipe for chaos. [THREAD]
2. For May, legitimacy comes from (her interpretation of) the referendum. So it was simply an irrelevance when MPs refused to endorse her deal. For Corbyn, "the mandate" comes from Labour members. So when MPs voted "no confidence" in his leadership, that, too, was an irrelevance.
3. Both leaders embody intellectual traditions dismissive of parliament: for May, an authoritarian populism that pits "the will of the people" against MPs; for Corbyn, a Bennite tradition that sought "a new popular democracy" to replace "parliamentary democracy as we know it".

Next week, Labour will whip in favour of an amendment for a second referendum. But it's very unlikely to pass as not all their own MPs will back it.

My calculation of the number of Labour MPs who won't support a #PeoplesVote currently stands at 33 👇 docs.google.com/document/d/1t2…
Of the 33, there are 19 who have indicated pretty categorically that they won't vote for one.

There are also another 14 whose public opposition isn't quite as explicit, but whose voting behaviour and previous statements points towards opposing a second referendum.
For example, if an MP has previously voted against an EEA-style soft Brexit, or not voted for extending Article 50, are they really going to vote for a second referendum - a more radical proposal than either?
