Just got this via text: "You are a retarded kike. You dont want to win 2020. You enjoy complaining about Trump." It was accompanied by this and other anti-semitic art. This is Trumpism. The instances of this & worse happening in my life have increased a thousandfold since 2016. 
The words and art are repulsive. But what lies beneath them is worse. And if you are a Jew, a Muslim, a person of color, a woman or simply a patriot, you are getting the equivalent from a modern GOP that is fueled by hate, hate stoked by the president and those around him.
This is worse than I ever imagined would happen in America but it links to much in our racist past. Native Americans, Black Americans, Japanese Americans, Chinese Americans have all had it much worse. And even as I child I remember swastikas drawn on our New Jersey driveway.
That said, each day of Trump and his efforts to institutionalize hatred and racism, to promote white supremacy and the Christo-fascism of evangelicals, our current crisis grows worse and the prospect of much worse to come increases.
We can shrug it off. We can say, "What else is new?" We can rationalize that it is only a small minority of Americans who are driving this despicable behavior. But such complacency only opens the door wider to those who seek to dehumanize, to demonize, to target "the other."
Make no mistake, a vote for Trump, support for Trump, a dollar for Trump, defending Trump, enabling Trump, is just the same as sending filth like this, just the same as marching with a tiki torch, just the same as putting children in cages because they are brown.
There is no form of Republicanism in today's America that is somehow above or apart from this...unless it actively combats it, rejects it, condemns it. McConnell, Pence, Graham, McCarthy, the Trump acolytes on the Hill, Miller, Mulvaney, Ivanka, Jared...they are all part of it.
Re-empowering them, re-electing Trump only sends a message to them that their message works, has been validated by the American people, is somehow what America wants, what America wants to be & that will transform hateful memes & messages into actions we can hardly imagine today.
Look around. This is everywhere. It is present at Trump rallies, it is present in the revealed emails of white supremacists like Miller, it is present in the intolerant, extremist ethno-nationalism of Pompeo and Kushner and Pence...
...it is present in the pardons of murderers who kill children purely because they are Muslim and "foreign", it is present in the willful, criminal neglect of Puerto Rico, in our border policies, in policies that reject the humanity of the trans community.
Look around, it is the essence of Trumpism & the spirit of the right in the US today. Then ask yourself, what are you going to do about it? There are only two sides in this: Those who fight it & those who enable it through action or silence. Which side are you on? Who are you?
There are no by-standers in America today. You either are actively fighting to save the country from Trump and Trumpism or you are supporting both either directly or via your passivity in the face of their racism, misogyny, nativism, religious intolerance, corruption and abuses.
