Short thread ... 1-4

1. Friday's Reporting Scotland covered the Queen Elizabeth Hospital issue. An image of a 'leaked' report was shown that mentioned 'Deadlegs'. The implication was that 'Deadlegs' are not allowed and that this proved management knew about water contamination.
2. What the reporter failed to tell viewers was that 'Deadlegs', although not advisable, were acceptable when the hospital was constructed. In July 2014 NHS GGC published guidance that explained how to manage deadlegs. [hfs.scot.nhs.uk/publications/1…]
3. The BBC Scotland claim was further rubbished by a report published in Dec 2018. The report shows that pre-handover sanitation was carried out. It's unclear if some contamination returned or if the contamination was never fully eradicated ...
4. But it's clear that the contractor did take action prior the handover to Glasgow NHS. This blows a hole in the BBC Scotland suggestion that 'deadlegs' proved management knew about contamination and did nothing when the hospital was handed over in 2015.

The end.
