1. Railways now account for £18bn/ £32bn transport budget - well over half. Roads £10bn. Just 4 years ago, roads and rail both £9bn... Source HMT PESA tables
2. Over the past four years per capita spend on railways... has doubled from £140 per head to £279 per head... NB “local public transport” in that time has stayed the same at £38... (PESA).
3. Of that £279 per head spent in England on railways...

East Midlands gets £79 per head
London gets £834 per head

Basically though, before the state Opening of Parliament, every new MP should be made to read the Treasury PESA tables, and memorise them.

Washington Post re: US-UK published trade deal negotiating objectives contains language that would water down planned online crackdown holding tech giants responsible for harmful content, already exported from US via Nafta renegotiation - very interesting on new trade trade offs:
Eg when PM May announced online harms legislation earlier this year -“tough punishments” promised to tech companies that fail to remove and control harmful content... new Queens Speech language talked of “processes and systems rather than penalising”
Senior Tory MP Collins already warning Government not to accept section 230 provisions protecting tech platforms, in US-UK trade deal (some discussion around this in the leaked papers)...

It's powerful, scary, and breaks Namjoon's heart because in the back of his mind he knows he needs to get away.
Dark magic changes a person to their very core and Joon can't imagine having to sit and watch the Jimin he loves turn into a man he can't even recognize so he runs; even though he's six months pregnant.
Runs far enough away that he crosses an entire ocean to make sure Jimin will never find him or his son.

To a village where no one knows who he is, or most importantly /whose/ he is. Most people just assume he's a poor omega down on his luck after a bad relationship.

Since the Greens and NDP have the only vaguely-progressive candidates running in my riding, I'm spending part of my Saturday night reading both platforms. (A thread may or may not follow, depending on how enthusiastic I get about it).
The "Green Vision: Canada in 2030" section is remarkable in that it's basically describing a #NUMTOT utopia. #NUMtopia? greenparty.ca/en/platform/in…
I'm impressed that (in the PDF document) indigenous issues are the first section, followed by climate change. We can't address one without the other and it's nice to see that recognised.

I still see articles claiming that the US hasn’t waged war on Syria – war denial persists -- so a corrective thread is in order. 1/many
Note: there’ve been two primary parts of the US war on Syria: the war on the government & the “war on ISIS.” The deniers erase the former & focus on the latter, which they absurdly depict as collaboration with Assad.
In fact, the US war on the gov & the US “war on ISIS” are fronts in the same war, each part of an effort to weaken/impoverish Syria. While neither’s gotten sufficient attention, the war on the gov is the part denied & my focus here.
