For context, the last ice age was about 5 deg C (9 deg F) colder than today.

Think about that for a minute. No, really think about how much the world changed between the last glacial maximum 20,000 years ago and today. Ice sheets thousands of feet thick covered N. America. Sea level was 300 feet lower. The world looked like a different planet.
So 5 deg of warming will alter the planet beyond recognition. And it's worse than that. The warming coming out of the last ice age took 10,000 years. We'll do it in 100 years.

A lot of the kids alive now will live through this. To them: I'm sorry.
