@RobGeorge Hamiltons whole point was impeachment IS inherently political ergo Senate must be the body that conducts the trial because the Senate is political and scotus shouldnt be (also if crimes they would sit in judgment twice) contra gop claim that Hamilton was warning against politics. 
@RobGeorge Notice the subtle implication that the Senate is a body of politics though esteemed as the Senate -in Hamilton's view- the supreme court is a body of law and rigid adherence to the law or a criminal code isnt sufficient to deal with all the issues that might arise re impeachment
