This is performative wokeness at its worst.

White BROgressives think "is a cop" will mitigate their support for a candidate who mocks "identity politics" and thinks most drug dealers are Black.
But what is the underlying assumption in white people attacking a Black candidate with "is a cop?"

They mistake distrust of police and criminal justice as an embrace of criminality. They think Black people are, are related to, or are friends with criminals.
And I have already ranted about the dangerous idea they are pushing, that any person who wants to reform the system cannot join the system, because they will be painted "is a cop"

The CJ system is racist. It will remain so if these people have their way

In an early preemptive strike against Kamala Harris, the @NYTimes, the protector of the status quo, published a character smear by Lara Bazelon in the opinion section which meant it did not have to meet regular journalistic standards.
