For such interested, educated folks, you’re truly blind to what’s going on. No wonder citizens of Canada, US & UK have a limited understanding.

How sad that with access to all the information at your fingertips, you miss the big picture.

It isn’t education, poverty, intelligence, class, economics or any of the other reasons journalists keep offering as plausible explanations for a global trend towards autocracy.

It’s thought reform on a massive scale. Weaponized data aggregation identifying those who are most malleable to indoctrination and manipulation of perception.

Have you heard of Cambridge Analytica? Have you read Chris Wylie’s “Mindf**k?”

For senior journalists, you sure seem to be lost in the reeds looking for clues.

It’s really this simple. Social Media presents the opportunity for those with access to databases of personal data, to identify the weakest members of the “herd” and target them for indoctrination.

Which is precisely what’s happened. Those with lower levels of education lack sophistication, not intelligence. Naivety and lack of exposure to the level of corruption and nefarious intent that exists in the world are the easiest targets for the corrupt.

That often includes those with no PSE. Who are less likely to be knowledgeable about global politics and the depths of depravity that exist and have always existed as part of the human condition.

The sheltered and buffered from true suffering are not difficult to sway and manipulate perception. They are the most vulnerable of the population. Show them something foreign, evil and over-generalize. Bing bang boom, you’ve created a hate fueled mob.

Or divide and conquer using the myriad of other wedge issues besides immigration and anti Muslim hatred that are being prolifically amplified by those with criminal intent on SM, MSM, biased internet based journalism, etc.

Over analyzing it as a phenomenon caused by lack of PSE or economic stagnation, or whatever is the creative excuse & correlating occurrence of the day makes you seem pensive and smart. Caring, earnestly looking for the cause. Exactly the elitism that’s frustrates those w/o PSE.

It’s also part of the distraction.

Yes, I have a university degree, but I’m also a stay at home mom who hasn’t been employed since 2007 and hasn’t paid much attention to politics until 2016, because I’ve been too busy with kids & life to take the time to notice.

But I did notice a decline in the quality of Canadian investigative journalism, because I tried to stay relatively informed. So I sought out my own answers using reports of facts and foreign news sources who were still committed to journalistic standards.

Your pontificating is muddying the water. Stop it.

Report the damn news. Hire some journalists that have the skills of analysis. Everything you need to understand what is happening is already out there. Report it. And stop obfuscating the truth.

Some seriously malevolent people are attempting to change world order. Xi and CCP, Trump & GOP Republicans, MbS and Saudi Arabia, Putin and Russian oligarchy. That’s where this BS is from. Those four and associated complicit allies like Netanyahu/Israel & Erdogan/Turkey, etc.

So enough of the elitist mumbo jumbo. Just report the news. It’s your job, and those of us who have had to look it up ourselves and try to inform as many as possible are increasingly resentful and frustrated by your musings meant to distract rather than inform.

I’m speaking for myself, of course, but I’m confident I’m not the only one that resents the utter abandonment of MSM to investigate, analyze and report the news so those of us with other responsibilities can be informed, & thus, make political decisions accordingly.

Plenty of people, without PSE are more than intellectually capable of discerning truth from fiction, if it comes from trusted news sources. You’re abusing that trust and facilitating the spread of confusion and disinformation.

And you have the audacity to ponder whether those with less education are to blame? How dare you blame those who are victim to the manipulation of perception that’s occurring. Your joint thread is part of that scam.

If one indigenous stay at home mom, with a BA, can figure that out, so can many others with accurate analysis and summarization of the available facts.

You may laugh or denigrate this thread. Call me a conspiracy theorist or discount everything I say. But you know I’m correct.

You know what I’m saying is accurate. We all hope and pray the salary you receive isn’t tied to willful turning of a blind eye. Though I suspect, that’s the answer to “whatever happened to Canadian investigative journalism?”

Get off your high horse. Report the news. Democracy is dying. You have a front row seat. It’s literally your job & ONLY responsibility to keep those in the nosebleed seats informed. Democracy dies in darkness and the public is searching desperately for a speck of light in MSM.
